Applications are now open for the International Certificate Course European Competence Programme, which aims to strengthen cooperation in education across Europe, bring people together around shared values, and enhance teachers’ international competences. This important programme, organised in the field of School Education (SE), will bring together teachers from different European countries in a shared learning and networking environment.

Today, the need to strengthen mutual understanding, cooperation, and unity across Europe is more important than ever. In response to this need, the programme offers a high-quality learning opportunity designed to enhance teachers’ professional and international competences.

Teachers from across Europe will come together in Germany

As part of the programme, an international seminar will be held from 22 to 25 March 2027, hosted by the Institute for Quality Development in Schools (IQSH) in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The seminar will bring together teachers from across Europe who work in different subject areas and types of schools.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore innovative, practical, and experiential European educational approaches that they can apply directly in their schools and classrooms. Throughout the training, teachers will not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also work with practical methods, share experiences, and gain new perspectives.

Opportunities for both professional development and international networking

The seminar will not only introduce teachers to new teaching methods but also provide a strong platform for developing professional networks across Europe. Participants will be able to:

  • Explore practical teaching methods,

  • Share ideas and examples of good practice,

  • Meet colleagues from different European countries,

  • Connect with potential project partners,

  • Develop concrete project ideas for European school projects that they can implement together in the future.

In particular, the dedicated networking sessions planned as part of the seminar will help teachers establish international partnerships and make a strong start in jointly developing projects.

Participation is free, with travel and accommodation expenses covered

One of the programme’s most notable features is its broad accessibility, made possible through funding from the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Action Programme. This English-language seminar, which is open to educators from across Europe, is completely free of charge. Participants’ travel and accommodation expenses will also be covered.

In this respect, the programme offers an important opportunity for teachers who wish to gain international experience and closely follow current developments in education from a European perspective.

New horizons in education from a European perspective

The International Certificate Course European Competence Programme aims to strengthen teachers’ capacity to think from a European perspective, work in multicultural environments, and bring innovative educational practices into their classrooms. By the end of the programme, participants are expected not only to have acquired new knowledge and skills but also to have established sustainable partnerships across Europe and laid a strong foundation for future school projects.

This programme offers a highly valuable opportunity for teachers who wish to develop professionally in the field of school education, meet colleagues from across Europe, and participate in international projects.
